작품해설

삶은 탄생의 순간을 만남으로 시작되는 긴 항해이다. 환희의 만남, 고뇌의 만남, 축복의 만남으로, 그리고 그 만남을 영원한 고별로 맞이한다. 잠시 머물다 아주 떠난 자리에서 남은 사람들은 환생의 기도로 항해의 닻을 내린다.

절대 음이 아닌 12현 가야금의 미분적 음향으로 인간 내면세계의 흔들림을 묘사하려 했다. 연주할 때마다 그 음정과 음색 파동의 변화가 내겐 황홀함을 준다.

작품해설(영문)

From birth, life is a journey marked by various encounters, Encounters with joy, with suffering, with blessing...
Eventually these encounters come to an end with a farewell. One's short stop in life is followed by a long and eternal absence, remaining loved ones casting anchor by offering a prayer of reincarnation.

The microtonal textures of the traditional 12-string kayageum, which do not rest on absolute pitchm portray the uncertainty of our inner world. Each performance goes through different fluctuations in intervals and textures, bringing a sense of joy and ecstasy.
