Time can be divided into two types: chronos and kairos. The former refers to clock time that can be measured. The latter refers to opportune moments. Kairos is the god of opportunity in Greek mythology. He has a lock of hair hanging over his face so that he can be easily seized when he arrives. However, the back of his head is bald so as not to let anyone grasp him once the moment has passed, and he has two wings on his back.
As m2 chromatic motifs increase, they form a tone cluster and are mixed with the sounds of the other instruments. This piece starts with one note and advances into many. It depicts Kairos chased by those who have missed the favorable moment.
