…“주관과 경험의 방식들, 규정된 것과 규정되지 않은 것들, 수많은 가상과 그 사아의 왜곡된 의미들”…그리고 이 모든 것들의 충돌… 사실, 이것이 거의 전부이다. 불안한 환청과 같이 멀리서 울려나와 시간의 그늘 속으로 사라져버리는 소리가 있다. 의미도 없이 분명하고 무기력하게…닫힌 세계 속의 수많은 외침과 침묵의 응답. 이 작품에서 내가 듣고싶었던 것은 오직 한 가지이다. 음들도 우리들처럼 저 광활한 “시간의 여백” 속에서 태어나고, 잠시 숨 쉬다가 소멸해간다는 것이다. “시간적 암흑”과 “꿈”이라는 의식과 무의식의 “그늘”. 여기서 한 가지 결정적 부정성이 개입되는데 그것은 작곡 과정에서 우연히 붙이게 된 이 음악의 제목이 그것이다. 이것은 나와 이 음악과 청중들의 순수한 소통을 막는 최악의 요소로 자리매김 된다.
…그리고 비로소 나는 이 음악과 분리된다!…
작품해설(영문)
…The ways of subjectivity and experience, the restricted and the unrestricted, a number of false images and their distorted meanings. And the conflicts among all these elements. There is music disappearing into the shadows of time, like uneasy auditory hallucinations resounding in the distance. Without any meaning, obviously, but unnerving. Numerous outcries in the closed world and responses to deep silence! The only thing Zi want to hear in this piece is, like us, "a sound born from the vastness of time," live and fade away. The consciousness of unconsciousness of shadows! The darkness of time and dreams!
Here is thing: in the process of music composition, and absolute denial implies intervention. It is an accidental title. The title stands as the worst obstacle hindering honest communication between the audience and composer.
