조선시대 고위 관료들의 행차음악인 ‘대취타’를 주제로 작곡 되었다. 행차하는 이들의 근엄함, 이를 의지하는 권능, 그리고 깊은 근원에서 흘러나오는 진취적인 기상을 국악 관현악에 맞게 표현하였다.
기존의 대취타 선율을 현대의 감성과 정서에 맞게 재구성하여 서사적인 세리머니(ceremony)를 드러낸다. 취타대와 조화롭게 국악 관현악의 색채가 가미되고, 폭발적인 음향과 화음대비를 통해 풍성하고 강렬한 이미지를 강조했다.
작품해설(영문)
It is based on the theme of daechwita, marching music for high-ranking officials during the Joseon dynasty. The dignity of marching people, the authority invested in them, and enterprising spirit from deep down are expressed in the form of gugak orchestral music.
The daechwita melody is reconstructed to suit modern sentiments and represent an epic ceremony. Daechwita music is harmoniously mixed with the elements of gugak orchestral music, and the explosive sound and chord comparison emphasizes a rich and intense image.
