창내고자 창내고자 이내 가슴에 창 내여고자

광창이나 들창이나 벼락다지 미닫이나

쌍창이나 열장자 밀장자 가루장자 세루장자

돌철접은 걸분합 암돌저귀 숟돌저귀를 맞춰

걸쉬 배목 고리 사슬 박을 설주에다 뿌리긴 박옷을 대고

크나 큰 장도리로 땅뚱 땅뚱 눌러박아

이내 가슴에 창내여고자

두었다

임생각이 나서 가삼이 답답하올 적에

여닫처나볼까 (하노매라)

작품해설(영문)

To make a window, to make a window, in my heart

A large skylight, a small push-up window, or a sliding window

A hinged window, a window that swings open wide, or a window with delicate muntins

I will attach a hinge to the windowsill and another to the window

And attach a knob and a latch

With a large hammer making a clang-clang sound

To make a window in my heart

I will open and close the window

When my heart feels heavy with thoughts of my beloved one
