작품해설

우리가 살아 숨쉬는 동안은 여러 가지 생각과 감정이 끊이지 않고 곁을 이루며 이어진다. 염색작가이신 아버지의 작품들 “결” 시리즈를 보면서 깊은 서정에 빠져들었던 기억을 대금과 타악기에 의해 표현해 보았다.섬세하고도 다양한 감정을 충분히 표현하기에 적당한 대금의 특성을 잘 살리면서, 비브라폰이 팬의 속도 변화와 함께 그 울림의 정도를 달리하면서 대금선율에 적절히 스며들고, 이따금씩 심벌이 이에 합세하면서 조화를 이루어 가도록 하였다.

작품해설(영문)

As long as we breathe, we cannot stop thinking and feeling to from of soul, such as GYOUL(which means grain of wood, a wave in the water and temper ament of sprit of a man in Korean).This piece was originally inspired by the works of my father who is a dye artist. In the piece I tried to reproduce my father's artistic soul with my musical sense through Korean traditional instrument 'daegum', vibraphone and suspended cymbal. The delicate and expressive melody of daegum makes harmony with the vibrant sound of percussions.
