사람은 누구나 언젠가는 다시 흙으로 돌아간다는 것을 타악기소리에 담아낸 작품이다. 비브라폰의 선율은 인간의 삶을 상징하며 타악기의 다양한 음색은 주변의 상황들을 묘사하고 있다. 곡 중의 모든 선율은 6음으로 된 주제와 그 역행 선율로 되어 있으며, 화음은 이 음들의 결합으로 이루어져있다. 비교적 투명하고 텍스쳐를 잘 드러내기 위해 섬세한 음색의 표현이 요구되는 곡이다. 이곡을 지난해에 소천하신 아버지에게 드린다.
작품해설(영문)
"Back to dust ..." is depicts that man goes back to dust eventually by viola and metal percussions. All of the melodies and harmonies in this piece are derives from the theme consisting six notes. Mostly, the viola symbolizes man and various timber of percussions express the circumstances.
This piece is the commissioned work for the Summer Concert 2010 in
Melbourn and it is t dedicated to my father who passed away September
2009.
