"Broken Column" by Frida Kahlo, which I have merely appreciated in a book of painting, now faces me for mutual sympathy. Composing inspired by paintings is not an exceptional case. The process of representing a certain picture by measns of music, however, is not a simple work at all, because the methods of creating a music picec is completely different from that of painting.
This piece is not disticntly programmatic; it represents the path of Frida Kahlo's life by dividing surface impression of "Broken Column" into several things, and expressing them through music. Accordingly, the piece consists of 4-5 fragments which are connected and represent each facet of the painting.
