From the 1980s onward, I have tired to give back innate meanings of music to contemporary music, which has lost its purpose in pursuit of means. Composed for Korean Chamber Ensemble, this piece has been performed by most Korean string ensembles as one of their favorite repertories. Like the brush-strokes of far Eastern drawing, this music embraces diverse touches such as 'sometimes delicately and exquisitely (for solo string instrument)', 'sometimes roughly and massively (for tone cluster of strings)', 'regulating light and shade (through loudness of tones, tension of chords and variations of tone colors)'.
