작품해설

작곡가가 이화여대에 제직할 때 이대학보에 실린 학생의 시에 마음이 끌려 이 곡을 만들게 되었다. 3개의 플루트로 표현된 시의 분위기에 힘입어 소프라노는 당당히 ‘아침이 다가오고 있음’을 감미로운 선율 속에 용해되어 아름다운 서정의 세계를 펼쳐 보여주는 작품이다.

작품해설(영문)

When he was teaching at Ihwa Women University. he found an attracting poem by one of the college students. Accompanied by three flutes the soprano declares “Morning is coming.” The social participation and resistance against the political power mingle with lovely melodies which navigate through the beautiful world of lyricism.
