"So-ri" was commissioned at the Contemporary Guitar Music Festival which was held in Japan, 1982. The aim of the festival was to purse various new possibilities of the instrument of guitar. Composed for guitar, flute and cello, this piece shows the process of convergence into a peakpoint through sharp contrast of timbre among each instruments.
"So-ri" (which means 'sound' in Korean) here does not mean physical sound but the sound of spirit, or crying for the deepest heart.
