작품해설

시인 유자효의 시에 의한 두 개의 노래로, 시계소리와 새의 소리는 피아노에 의해 묘사되고 시의 내용은 성악파트에 의해 표현되고 있다. 선율의 구성은 뚜렷한 선율과 레치타티보에 가까운 선율의 두 가지로 되어 있으며 수시로 조성의 테두리를 넘나들고 있다. 두 곡 모두 Ⅰ도 화음이 주를 이루고 있으며 충살한 3화음의 두터운 음향을 피하기 위해 많은 부분에서 3음이 생략되어 있다.

작품해설(영문)

The sounds of clock, bird are described by piano and the contents of poem by vocal. The structure of melody consists of one which has clear shape of line and the other which is close to recitave, and these visit the fields of tonality and atonality freely.
I gave main rules to tonic chords in both songs and omitted the third of those chords in order to avoid the thick sound of strict triad chord in many parts.
